GOODSTUPH

Defiantly Brilliant

Minion Wanted

We’re looking for a new apprentice! It’ll involve much more than making coffee for the Boss Lady. We promise. Take a look at Denise’s experience as an intern and send in your resume to kopiboy@goodstuph.org

For more information on the apprenticeship programme, please refer to this post.

Boss Lady’s in the Hot Seat.

the hot seat

This Sunday only: Boss Lady’s going to be featured in a new programme, Hot Seat, where various personalities from Singapore answer questions from the Public live via webcam.

It’s probably going to be the only chance you’d get to pick the Boss Lady’s brains for free for an hour. Ask all you want about social media and digital influence. It doesn’t stop there; she’s game for personal questions too. So get your questions ready… See you Sunday, 30th January, at 9pm.

Chinese New Year’s coming around, and the GOODSTUPH team has been drowning in CNY paraphernalia (especially since our studio is in Chinatown).

Since we’re already in the mood, we’ve gotten hold of 8 nifty mahjong tile bracelets (pictured above) to bless 8 winners with lots of luck for the New Year ahead. May you win many mahjong games, $10 million at the Hong Bao draw, stay slim despite wolfing down bak-kwa… and the like.

Excited?

Here’s how you can participate:

1. Think of someone (a friend of yours on Facebook) incredibly cool, trendy, and personable.

2. “Like” our Facebook page – if you haven’t done so already.

3. Let us know who this person is by posting in the following format on our wall: I think (@username) is (@GOODSTUPH).

Example below:

The Apprenticeship

The Apprentices' Desk
The Apprentices’ Desk

An apprenticeship programme will be launched as of January 2011 at the GOODSTUPH studio. The chosen apprentice will undergo notoriously brutal training by the Boss Lady herself. Skills and knowledge conventionally acquired over half a decade will be bestowed on the apprentice in a minimum period of 6 months, with the potential of converting into a full-time Craftsman/ Craftswoman.

THE REQUIREMENTS
1. A bachelor’s or associates degree in advertising, marketing, graphics, web development, communications, English, IT, or related. Diploma holders may apply.

2. Excels at research, has excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to crank editorial and technical writing output without brooding.

3. Has some work experience or training in advertising, PR, online marketing or similar field.

4. A masochist who lives and breathes the social media universe.

5. Has outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

6. A never-say-die attitude. If you would so slightly whine over any challenge, you’d be shown the door immediately.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve the Boss Lady and her Craftswoman-in-command coffee each morning. Seriously.

2. Be the eyes and ears for GOODSTUPH and her suite of clients like your Facebook account depend on it.

3. Provide participation in conversations surrounding GOODSTUPH’s content and brand, respond to comments, be a mediator, etc.

4. Support the Craftswoman in day-to-day operations.

5. Wake the Boss Lady up each morning for her meetings.

THE REWARDS
1. The most painful apprenticeship of a lifetime with the most miserable, almost non-existent pay. If you’re in it for the latter, we strongly recommend you not to apply.

2. The opportunity of working on world-renowned global brands, such as Ben and Jerry’s, Electrolux, NBC Universal, Nike, The National Art Gallery, Standard Chartered Bank and Visit Britain.

3. The opportunity of working with the finest creative minds from the industry GOODSTUPH currently work with.

4. The ability to go for a 3pm haircut, facial, or brazillian wax – so long as you complete your work.

5. A really fuckawesome balcony that oversees the former CID building in the heart of Chinatown.

6. Free flow of Red Bull and the Boss Lady’s stash of whisky.

7. No Lotus Notes (and trust us on this, it matters).

8. A truly creative environment where humour is celebrated as much as excellence in work.

Interested? Write to the Kopi Boy at kopiboy@goodstuph.org with your resume (in PDF and not Word document please… how dumb can you get?). Interviews with the Boss Lady commences 27 December – 31 December 2010.

Want to be friends? rubber stamp

want to be friends rubber stamp

Prior to the birth of Facebook, to “Add as Friend” would have sounded odd. Who would have thought it would be socially acceptable to acquire a friend like an art buyer with his paintings? Who would have thought we could befriend someone straight after the initial encounter, or even before?

We love how Facebook brings the world together, and more importantly, how it enables the socially handicapped to potentially have friends (so long as he or she doesn’t poke too much).

We have been toying with an idea in the studio for the longest time. We wanted to celebrate the absurdness of the human behaviour today as a result of a function from a social networking site. We wanted to encourage humans to do the same offline, and hopefully making friends in real life.

With that in mind, the WANT TO BE FRIENDS? rubber stamp was born. Between proposals, presentations, and getting pissed drunk at parties, we decided to spoof the Facebook “Add as Friend” icon, whilst staying true to our Asian soul.

The WANT TO BE FRIENDS? rubber stamp measures at 15mm (height) x 94.5mm (width), and is available at USD12.00 (SGD16.00) each.
